By the time you’re reading this, that record will most likely be considered slow, because, as Mitchriz told me, Elden Ring‘s speedrunning community simply won’t stop improving.īefore you did this run, you had another that was fantastic that you couldn’t count because a minute of it wasn’t recorded. Distortion2 would then crush that time by beating the game in 8:56. Naturally there are some spoilers but so much of the game is skipped or glitched that there would still be tons of surprises should you play Elden Ring.By the time of writing, just three days after our interview, that record had been left in the dust thanks to a new strategy that let Mitchriz beat the game in 9:40. It was short-lived, however, as Distortion2 is now back on top.ĭistortion2’s entire speedrun can be watched below. Fellow YouTuber Hazeblade then took the record last week with a run under 25 minutes using the Zip glitch.

FromSoftware recently pushed out a patch that balanced many of the game’s overpowered weapons and abilities which, in turn, have impacted many speedrun strategies.ĭistortion2 was achieved the first sub-50 minute speedrun which he then beat with a run that took less than half an hour. It’s worth noting that this latest accomplishment was made playing the old version of Elden Ring (version 1.02). In this case, Distortion2 used a combination of his old speedrun methods with the newly discovered “Zip” glitch that allows him to skip large potions of Elden Ring entirely.

Distortion2 uploaded a video of his ANY% Elden Ring run being completed in just 18 minutes and 58 seconds.įor those unfamiliar, the goal of an ANY% run is to simply get to the game’s end credits as quickly as possible, utilizing any forms of glitches, tricks, etc. YouTuber Distortion2, one of the Elden Ring community’s best speedrunners who has set multiple records since the game’s release, has now achieved the world’s first sub-20 minute run. Someone has now beaten the game in less than 20 minutes.

My first playthrough of Elden Ring took me nearly 100 hours to complete.
