Finally, you'll be presented with two choices sever the thread to earn the 'Grow Vast and Strange' ending, or trace it back for the 'Warmth and Light' ending. Plant the seed he gives you and once it finishes growing, you'll talk to him again. Once you've completed both of their questlines, hack into the Greenway with NeoVend's key, allowing you to meet the Gardener.
Those won't come cheap- they're awarded randomly by buying Scrap from the weekly vendor- but neither is buying a Shipmind outright, which is a massive 300 Cryo, NeoVend's questline is much more straightforward, requesting you to hack certain nodes and acquire a Shipmind, which you can craft with Shipmind Fragments. You'll actually progress most of Riko's questline by completing Emphis' Questline first your leftover Girolle and Matsutake caps will come in handy here, but you'll have to do a lot of mushroom farming regardless.
This ending will require you to complete the questlines of both Riko, a botanist in the Hypha Commune, and NeoVend, a vending machine locked behind a door near your first home.
